Synopsis
It is now an established ‘orthodoxy’ that words and meanings of the Qur’an emanate directly from the God of Islam, but it was hardly so during the early centuries of Muslim theology. In this presentation, an effort will be made to suggest a taxonomy of some of the most important (but neglected) theories of divine revelation in early Muslim theology.

Biography
Yaser Mirdamadi (MA in Muslim Cultures, 2010) is currently completing a PhD at the University of Edinburgh.
