Road to Jubilee Games: Tanzania – Fanous from the shores of Lake Victoria & Indian Ocean to the Uhuru peak of Mt Kilimanjaro

The Jamat of Tanzania brings you perspectives from across Tanzania, with the Fanous enactment of the ancient times when the Fatimid Caliph-Imam was welcomed to Cairo, the Victorious. Against the darkness of the night sky, watch this enactment at the historic and majestic Upanga Jamatkhana as the Jamat holding many mini-fanous’ turn the celebration into a dance of lights encapsulating the Jubilee Games logo and spelling out Tanzania. It is an incredible video, not to be missed.

Also, follow Team Tanzania’s epic journey to crown Africa’s highest mountain, Mt Kilimanjaro with Fanous. We recommend you watch the extended version in addition to the short version to hear accounts of the dozen members who summited Mt Kilimanjaro with Fanous.

And finally, watch the videos of the Jamats of Iringa, Mbeya, Mwanza, as they welcome Fanous in their cities and playfully bring to life the Jubilee Games logo. In a fraternal show of unity, Team Kenya and Team Tanzania bring their respective Fanous to light up in Mwanza – an epic display of brotherhood-sisterhood!

In the With the Jamat section are some pictures from Mwanza and Tanga jamats shared by our readers showing volunteers and ECDs children all geared up for the Fanous.

All these videos and many others that we have shared and will continue to share in the Road to Jubilee Games series are bound to make you proud of the many talents in the global Jamat.
