Zainub Verjee elected a Senior Fellow of Massey College

Zainub Verjee has been elected a Senior Fellow of Massey College at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Verjee’s nomination and election come as a result of her accomplishments and dedication to the pursuit of Public Good via art and how it promotes civic society. She is the Laureate of the 2020 Governor General’s Award in Visual and Media Arts for Outstanding Contribution. Her knowledge and experience in cultural policy and cultural diplomacy stems from a long history of nuanced art discussion. She has devoted her life to the advancement of contemporary Canadian culture through law, policy, and institutions.

“I am humbled to be included among a group of some of Canada’s finest academic leaders,” said Verjee. She further added that despite not being affiliated with the University of Toronto prior to her selection, she has been welcomed into a community that “includes some of the brightest minds, celebrated artists, and innovative thinkers in Canada.”
