Pakistan Premier, Afghan President hold talks Kabul, June 5 (PPI): Pakistan Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and Afghan President Hamid Karzai Tuesday had wide ranging talks on bilateral relations, regional and international situation at Presidential Palace in Kabul. Earlier, the prime minister had a meeting with Prince Karim Aga Khan and discussed matters of bilateral interest. Shaukat Aziz will attend a conference on enabling environment in the Afghan capital.The prime minister is accompanied by Federal Minister Ghazi Gulab Jamal and State Minister for Information Tariq Azeem Khan. PM Aziz for multi-pronged strategy in Afghanistan KABUL, June 5 (APP): Pakistan Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz Tuesday called for a multi-pronged strategy involving military, political and economic options in Afghanistan to bring peace and security to the region. “There must be engagement with all stakeholders, the internal and the external; the visible and the invisible. People must be given a sense of hope … They should be able to see light at the end of the tunnel,” he told participants of a conference on “Enabling Environment” organized by the Aga Khan Development Network. “We must win the hearts and minds of the people,” he said and pointed at the direct linkage between security and development. PM Aziz lauds Aga Khan’s contribution in Pakistan’s development KABUL, June 5 (APP): Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz Tuesday said Pakistan attached great importance to the investments made by Aga Khan Foundation in Pakistan in various sectors including tourism, banking and services. He was talking to Prince Karim Aga Khan whom he met him on the sidelines of Enabling Environment Conference being organized by Aga Khan Development Network in Kabul. Prince Karim Aga Khan said the government’s policies of liberalisation and deregulation were encouraging local and foreign investors. The two leaders also discussed the situation in Afghanistan besides the issues confronting Muslim Ummah, and emphasized the need for dispute resolution for durable peace in the region. PM Aziz arrives in Kabul on a day-long visit KABUL, June 5 (APP) Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz Tuesday arrived here in Kabul on a day-long official visit. The Prime Minister was received at the Kabul Airport by Afghan Minister for Higher Education Azam Dadfar and senior officials representing Afghanistan government and Pakistan embassy.
