World Refugee Day is an international day designated by the United Nations to honour refugees around the globe. It falls each year on June 20 and celebrates the strength and courage of people who have been forced to flee their home country to escape conflict or persecution. World Refugee Day is an occasion to build empathy and understanding for their plight and to recognize their resilience in rebuilding their lives (UNHCR).
At the end of 2021, 89.3 million people worldwide were forcibly displaced as a result of persecution, conflict, violence, human rights violations or events seriously disturbing public order (UNHCR).
On World Refugee Day, June 20, 2022, a special screening was held at Cinema Lumiere in London, UK, of a documentary titled Shelter from Shelter, a film that explores the hopes and challenges involved in providing temporary housing for refugees. The initiative was a collaboration between Royaume-Uni, the Harvard Club of the UK, Ismaili Centre London, and the Goethe-Institute London.

Congratulations to Mr. Jivraj and the IsmailiMail for their ongoing intersting and educational posts. Please keep up the good work. Best wishes and prayers, always.
