Asma Ladak receives Excellence in Research Award for 2021 at the 13th Health Sciences Research Assembly.

Asma Ladak is a final year medical student at The Aga Khan University (class of 2021). She is interested in pursuing clinical neurology and public health in the future. She is passionate about clinical research and has published several articles with her mentors from across the globe in national and international journals.
“For me, research is a tool to both understand diseases better and find ways to improve the quality of life of patients,” says Asma, “especially since neurology patients suffer from many chronic illnesses.” She is also interested in exploring how technology can be leveraged to help neurology patients and their families to better manage their conditions.
About HSRA
The Health Sciences Research Assembly (HSRA) is a regular academic event organized by Aga Khan University that provides a platform and an opportunity for the medical and nursing fraternities to share their ongoing or completed research work. Over the last several years, HSRA has proven instrumental in fostering and underpinning research culture at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Karachi Campus, and has guided numerous new multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary collaborations.
In order to continue sharing AKU’s ongoing and completed research work with great synergy, for exchange of ideas and dissemination of work in progress, and for providing greater opportunities for collegial work across disciplines and specialties, this year’s HSRA is the 13th in the series, which is being held from December 1st to December 5th, 2021.
