Ali Tejpar is a Juris Doctor/Master of Arts dual-degree candidate at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law and the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs (NPSIA) at Carleton University. Ali also holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours with Distinction) in Global Development and Political Studies from Queen’s University, where he ranked first in his graduating class and was awarded the Queen’s University Academic Medal.
Among over 24 awards and honours, Ali has been recognized for his leadership, community service, and academic achievements as a World Economic Forum Global Shaper, a Top 50 Emerging Canadian Leader, and a Joubin-Selig Scholar in International Affairs. He is also a recipient of the Norton Rose Fulbright Canada Scholarship, Dentons Prize in Property Law, Queen’s University Chancellor’s Scholarship, University of Toronto National Book Award, and the Governor General’s Academic Medal.
Ali has spoken as a panelist at international conferences in Prague, Atlanta, Montreal, and Ottawa on global health law, international security, and peacebuilding through diversity. His work has been published in several academic journals and a legal textbook on topics including private international aid regimes, the role of international mental health law in Canada, and the impact of Canadian federalism on foreign trade relations.
