Zahra Pirani, a Professional Engineer, honoured by Association of Consulting Engineering Companies British Columbia’s Young Professional Award
This year’s award recipient is Zahra Pirani, a Professional Engineer at CH2M HILL Canada Limited. Zahra completed her Civil Engineering Degree at the University of British Columbia in 2007. As an undergraduate, Zahra was involved in both the UBC Institute of Transportation Engineers Student Chapter and the UBC Engineering Undergraduate Society.
Following graduation, she worked as a Production Engineer (in-training) for Suncor Energy in Calgary, while volunteering for Engineers Without Borders (EWB) in various educational and outreach roles.
In 2012, Zahra completed a Masters of Engineering degree at Dalhousie University to expand her professional horizons, and followed her desire to work as an Environmental Engineer at a consulting engineering firm, where the diversity and consistently new challenges resonated for her.
The ACEC-British Columbia Young Professional Award recognizes an individual young professional who has demonstrated excellence in consulting business practices, outstanding achievements in their applicable fields, and leadership in the community.
