The official website of the Ismaili Muslim community worldwide (theismaili.org) releases images and video of the celebration of the Salgirah/birthday of His Highness the Aga Khan (Mawlana Hazar Imam), held in Aiglemont, France, on 16th December. His Highness turned 80 on December 13, 2016.
This historic milestone was celebrated by Ismaili Muslims who live in over 25 different countries, and members of Aga Khan’s family, with love, music and intense happiness. An ensemble of diverse musical talent gathered together to perform a musical performance composed especially for this event (click here to watch behind the scenes video of the musical journey).
On this occasion, Mawlana Hazar Imam expressed his great happiness and reminded his followers, the importance of living by the ethics and principles of the faith of Islam.
“My wish for the decades ahead is that you stand firmly by the principles and ethics of our faith. Wherever you are, whatever age you are, whatever you do in your lives, it is essentially important to me that the principles of our faith should be respected everyday of your lives. This is my hope and this is my prayer.”
