Dr. Ali S. Asani is Harvard professor of Indo-Muslim and Islamic Religion and Cultures and the director of the Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Islamic Studies Program.
On November 4, he will share an overview of Islam and speak about contemporary issues such as the meaning, the different interpretations, and the evolution of the term “jihad,” as well as women in society. 
The event will include an audience Q&A period.
This event is jointly sponsored by the Lesley University Diversity Council, the Graduate School of Arts and Social Sciences, and the Graduate School of Education.Free and open to faculty, staff, students, and the public.
