Province of Ontario, Canada adds Ismaili Celebration Days to the official yearly calendar

Ontario, Canada’s Office of Premier adds Imamat Day July 11 and December 13, the birthday of His Highness the Aga Khan, to the celebration days. The whole calendar depicts pluralism in religion and festivals.

Kathleen Wynne is Ontario’s 25th Premier and the first woman to serve in that role. She was first elected to the Ontario legislature in 2003 as the MPP for Don Valley West, and she became the leader of the Ontario Liberal Party in January, 2013. She has focused on introducing practical progressive solutions throughout her extensive political career, including roles as Ontario’s Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Minister of Aboriginal Affairs, Minister of Transportation, and Minister of Education.
