Professor Mansoor Saleh assisted with the recent collaboration between University of Alabama at Birmingham and Aga Khan University, Karachi. Earlier, Professor Saleh assured residents of Hoover, Alabama, that members of an Ismaili Muslim congregation will be good neighbors if they build a worship center bordering neighborhoods on Sulphur Springs Road.

Mansoor Saleh, M.D. received his medical training at the University of Heidelberg in Heidelberg, Germany and completed his doctoral thesis at the Max Planck Institute for Medical Research in Heidelberg. He did his internship and residency in internal medicine at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan followed by a fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Comprehensive Cancer Center (UABCCC). Following his fellowship he remained at UAB where he rose to the rank of professor of medicine and pathology as well as associate director for clinical research at the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center. He is currently associate director for Clinical Trials Network at UABCCC. In 1999, he joined Georgia Cancer Specialists in Atlanta, the largest community based oncology practice group in the Southeast. He serves as the director of Clinical Research at Georgia Cancer Specialists.
