Biodiversity specialist Z B Mirza has said we are willingly bringing a local climate change through glacial melting by not taking adequate measures and capacitating the mountain communities.
He was speaking at a seminar on ‘The frontlines of climate change: disaster risk management, water, food security and recreation challenges,’ organised by the Development Communications Network (DEVCOM-Pakistan) in collaboration with the Aga Khan Rural Support Programme and World Wide Fund for Nature here on Friday. The seminar was part of the launching of Pakistan Mountain Fest, a brainchild of DEVCOM-Pakistan.
