  1. Dear Dr. Kessinger:

Completely agreed! Governments have not been effective leaders in changing attitudes either towards global climate issues or global health issues. It is going to be up to great global NGOs like the AKDN to take leadership.

It was a great pleasure to see you again at Iqbal Noor Ali’s retirement celebration at the St. Regis in Washington exactly a week ago.

On another note, I am co-directing with the India actor-director, Tom Alter, the 2008 recipient of the Padma Shree Award, a feature film on Raja Rammohan Ray. I have written the film script based on my work at Penn which produced two books and now forthcoming life and times of Raja Rammohan Ray book.

We are approaching interested foundations and investors and I take this liberty to ask if the AKDN offers grants for films?

I look forward to inviting Iqbal back to the Foreign Service Institute to present the AKDN’s programs in South and Central Asia.

    Warmest best wishes,

    Bruce C. Robertson, Ph.D.
