Armaan Ali Somani Receives the Prestigious 2019 Queen’s Golden Jubilee Award

The Queen’s Golden Jubilee Citizenship Award honours students who have contributed to their communities through outstanding citizenship, leadership, public service and voluntary endeavour.

Armaan Ali Somani, graduate of Old Scona Academic High School, Edmonton, Canada has won this prestigious award for the year 2019, for his influential leadership, and his ArmaanAliSomanipassion for helping others.

While at Old Scona Academic High School, Armaan served on the Youth Council and participated in speech and debate clubs, using the platform to raise awareness about complex issues in our society. Armaan also volunteered his time for the City of Edmonton Youth Council, where he advised on a variety of issues, including health and well-being of youths.

Winners of this award receive a medal, and a $5,000 scholarship.
