During these unprecedented times, RJ Jalal Ladak, host of “Koffee with Jalal” and “Salaam Namaste Calgary” is making a point to promote Ismaili artists from all over the world, as well as being an ambassador, promoting AKDN’s pandemic relief fund.
A dear friend of Ismailimail whom we have supported through our platform for many years, Jalal, through his radio shows has made significant contribution in promoting members of Ismaili community from various walks of life over the years. He is someone whose contributions especially towards promoting Ismaili artists has been exemplary.
Jalal’s neck for finding “raw” talent within the community and giving them the opportunity to perform on his show is widely appreciated. This source of inspiration provided by him goes a long way specially for younger members of the community who feel appreciated in getting promoted.
His nature of inspiring others is not limited to Ismaili community only. He is someone who has extended his support by promoting artists from outside the community as well.
For many years now, Jalal has been a staunch supporter of World Partnership Walk (an initiative of Aga Khan Foundation, Canada). He has always been at the forefront of promoting this initiative via his radio shows. With Covid-19 pandemic hitting the world, and because of it, this year’s Partnership walk being cancelled, Jalal shifted his energies toward promoting Aga Khan Development Network’s newly launched “Pandemic Relief Fund“. Without skipping a beat, Jalal answered the call by promoting this effort quite extensively through his shows. He did not miss any opportunity to raise awareness for this very important initiative taken by AKDN which he continues to do todate.
While “Koffee with Jalal” is Jalal’s independent initiative, “Salaam Namaste Calgary” is a joint venture with his co-host Salma Jadavji. This combination of Jalal and Salma makes for a potent 1-2 punch which makes their show entertaining for invited guests as well as their audience.
