In observance of the passing away of Mahatma Gandhi on January 30, 1948, Eternal Gandhi Museum Houston, Arya Samaj Greater Houston, Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston, The Ismaili Jamatkhana Center, Mind Body and Spirit Institute and Bahai’s of Houston observed memorial service and pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on February 8, 2020.

Zikr Band (Kamal Haji, Saif Sattani, Zubair Firuz, Najeeb Jan, Firuz Shukrikhdov, and Rahila Babar), recited “Lab Pe Aati Hai Dua” Urdu poem by Allama Muhammad Iqbal which promotes the message of Love, Peace, Humanity, and Non-Violence. A Perfect tribute to the core message and lifestyle of Mahatma Gandhi. They also performed their original composition “ALLAH” as part of the presentation.

Allama Iqbal (Poet, philosopher and politician, as well as an academic, barrister and scholar in British India), who wrote “Lab Pe Aati Hai Dua (often regarded as the national prayer of Pakistan) also wrote Sare Jahan se Accha (Better than the entire world, is our Hind)” a very famous poem in India.
The Aga Khan Palace in Pune, India, was built by Sultan Mohammed Shah Aga Khan III in 1892 where Mahatma Gandhi was imprisoned from 9th August 1942 to 6th May 1944 during the nation’s struggle against British rule.
