Karachi, Pakistan: Women Leadership development Program – Phase 2 was held on 5th May 2019, at The Aga Khan University, DJ Fraser Mustard Hall, SONAM. The program by Guiding Chapter for Southern region was designed specifically for the capacity building of the participants who work endlessly to train the youth. The program was also aimed to provide these leaders with a platform to network with each other and get a chance to listen to renowned speakers which included Dr. Arif Pyar Ali and Yasir Tak, and also to learn from the stories and struggles of influential women through a panel discussion.
The panel included Dr. Rozina Karamaliani, Tahera Hassan and Rahila Narejo.
Sana Lokhandwala and Sumaira Lokhandwala, founders of HER Pakistan, spoke about their challenges, failures, roadblocks and what keeps them motivated. HER Pakistan is a social initiative that aims to educate and empower women and girls to manage period hygienically.
Along with Sana and Sumaira Lokhandwala, other young women entrepreneurs, and change makers namely Saman Hayat Soomro, Founder of Desi Wedding Diaries, Azima Dhanjee, Founder of ConnectHear and Farida Kanwal, Founder of The Queno were also invited to share their stories of their start-up initiatives.
