Mix of Ustaad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s well loved qawwali’s sung at the Nexus Arts Centre, Adelaide Australia by Farhan Shah & Brothers was part of Adelaide Fringe 2019 that took place Sunday February 24, 2019. The group is the only International Qawwali Touring group which has singers and musicians from Pakistan, India, Australia, Newzealand and Fiji. Divided by borders but united by Sufi Music.
Farhan Shah and his band soon had the audience singing along, as the MC for the evening had promised, to words that they didn’t understand. The latter material was described as ’fusion’ and happily they didn’t stray too far from the original form of the music. Farhan Shah worked hard to get the audience up and dancing and most responded and joined in the ‘Sufi party’.
