“End Plastic Pollution” - Serena Hotels Celebrate International Earth Day 2018

Gilgit- March 23, 2018 Under the Serena SEED program, following the theme of 2018: “End Plastic Pollution” Gilgit Serena Hotel Pakistan celebrated Earth Day with the collaboration of local public school in Gilgit.

The purpose was to give awareness to students regarding the importance of Earth Day and about the health and other risks associated with the use and disposal of plastics, including pollution of our oceans, water, and wildlife, and about the growing body of evidence, that plastic waste is creating serious global problems.

The Principle of Al Mustafa Public School Mr. Shahid Ali addressed the student on the importance of Earth Day. Gilgit Serena Hotel’s representative expressed their views on how to reduce carbon emissions, reduce the negative impact to the local environment and save our earth. All the students, aimed to “Make every day, Earth Day”.

A Paper Bag competition was held among the students, 50 students participated in this competition, Gilgit Serena Hotel presented gifts to the winners. The management of schools thanked Serena Hotels for initiating such activities and awareness.
