Irfan Ali. Andheri West, Mumbai, India: 2017 is a very special year for Ismaili Muslims worldwide. Ismaili Muslim Community is commemorating 60 years since His Highness the Aga Khan became the 49th hereditary Imam of the Shia Ismaili Muslims. To mark this historic moment in history, Ismaili Muslims worldwide are celebrating this occasion to maximum. One such happy and joyous occasion was held on July 10, 2017 in a community complex called Green Park located in Andheri West, Mumbai, India. What made this celebration unique was the decoration work that was done specifically for this occasion. This work is one of a kind that was appreciated by Ismailis world over.
Meet Saiyad Umatia. Graphics designer by profession. Saiyad is the man behind this masterful work. An active and devoted volunteer, Saiyad and the group of volunteers from Green Park came together to build this Art work that was put on display for world to see on July 10th. This video gives us behind-the-scene look at what inspired him to come up with this masterful work. Saiyad’s hope is that, his work inspires others, specially young members of the Jamat to come up with creative ideas for future.
Saiyad’s work was appreciated so much that his Art work will soon be installed permanently at Vaishali Jamat Khana in Mumbai, India for people to enjoy for years to come.
