Over 15,000 members of the BC Ismaili community assembled at BC Place on July 11, 2017 to celebrate the Aga Khan’s Diamond Jubilee. The first Ismailis arrived in Canada in the late 1950s. In the early 1970s, large numbers of Ismailis settled in Canada following political changes in many Asian and African countries. Today, more than 100,000 Ismailis live across Canada.
