This thrill-seeker is always looking for a good story to tell. Zahra Premji has lived in a campervan in Australia, backpacked across New Zealand, India and Thailand, jumped out of planes, bungeed off cliffs and worked with kids in Kenya, where her family is from.
Zahra earned her bachelor’s degree in communications at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver. From there she made her way to BCIT’s Broadcast and Online Journalism program, something she knew she wanted to do when she was only five years old. She had internships in the CTV National newsroom in Toronto, News Talk 980 CKNW, CBC Vancouver, Shaw Vancouver, and CFJC in Kamloops. During her time at BCIT she also earned recognition from the Jack Webster Foundation with a Student Journalism Award.
Before leaving the mountains of British Columbia behind, Zahra was a reporter and video journalist for CTV Vancouver Island. Her next flight was to Winnipeg for the latest adventure with Global News.
When she isn’t out searching for her next story, she’s busy snapping photos and spending time with friends and family.
