We often get inspired by someone else’s work of art. However it is always a good idea to recognize the source of your inspiration when presenting that work of art. This demonstrates you have respect for the original artist who actually inspired you in the first place. All great artists and performers do this and it adds to their greatness. The last stanza of this song has the artist’s name which was not included in this performance for some reason.
This particular song was written and sung by Kamal Taj in 1986 when Mawlana Hazar Imam visited United States. This song was a part of the album “Shahadat-i-Ishq” (Testimony of Love). The music was composed by Ali Shahabuddin. Another memorable song from that album is “Woh Shaam Mujhe Yaad Aaye”. You may visit Kamaltaj.org and listen to the entire album.
