During Mathematics Teaching Course – I (Ml-I), I was given the opportunity to teach a primary mathematics class at a Government school in Karachi, Pakistan while on teaching practice. I was lucky to be able to share the lesson planning with a friend, and we found the sharing of ideas a supportive process. The focus of the lesson plan was to be working on a problem solving task. Here I hope to share the insights I feel I gained through teaching the lesson, together with some of the issues and challenges that emerged, and their implication for me as a teacher.
