New role for Naz Rayani

There’s a change at the top of the Victoria World Partnership Walk. For the first time in two decades, Naz Rayani is no longer in charge.

The tireless advocate for the poor suffered several life-threatening health conditions over the past year and step aside while he recovers but organizers aren’t letting him go quite yet, they’ve made Naz their guest of honour this year.

  1. I am one of the well wishers of the great Naz Rayani- an inspiring personality. While in Canada, I spent great moments of my life with him. I was touched by the vigor and sense of volunteer-ism this man has. He is one of the backbones of the famous world partnership walk in Canada which raises money each year to support the work of AKF which is then matched by CIDA for various projects in developing countries including my home town. It was amazing to see how Naz and his many friends across Canada plan and work round the year for the partnership walk which takes place in 9 major cities of Canada every year on the last Sunday of May including Victoria, my favorite place. In Victoria, I was able to see first hand how these volunteers think for us and do their level best efforts to help poverty reduction initiatives in some of the most poverty hit countries of the world. Naz was kind enough to introduce me to a very inspirational personality Meri-Beth, Senior Report of A-Channel. She is also one of the volunteers and has also done some documentaries in Africa depicting the work of AKF and CIDA. This wonderful team would one day be in Hunza to capture some of the most significant impacts of the monumental CIDA-AKF partnership!!
