Ismaili Youth Soccer Camp Vancouver Helps Soccer Field Makeover at Aga Khan Primary School, Dar-es-Salaam

If a picture is worth a thousand words, here is the story of the Aga Khan Primary School in Dar-es-Salaam and how we, the Ismaili Youth Soccer Camp (IYSC), Canada had a big part to play in the complete renovations, in a joint initiative of the AKES Tanzania.

Before fundraising efforts, there were not enough floodlights or a high-wired mesh net be-hind the goalposts. This caused a problem as often during training, the balls would go over the wall into the neighbouring school where there were no lights. In order to retrieve the ball, the players would have to jump over the wall. The extremely tall grass also caused problems as they had to be very careful of snakes and other insects in the dark. Thanks to our contributions, AKPS was able to install the flood-lights. In the future, AKPS hopes to be able to raise more funds to install the high-wired mesh behind the goal posts.

Look at the amazing transformation as seen in the pictures before and after the renovations. A very special thank you goes out to everyone who contributed in helping with this glorious transformation! Hopefully one day, everyone will be able to visit and see the new AKPS soccer field for themselves. We hope that everyone who uses the facilities enjoy themselves for many years to come.
