Bijan Teja, a third year student at Dartmouth Medical School, US and Dibah Jiva, a 2nd year student at Nottingham Medical School, UK have written three guides to help students get into medical school. The guides were initially meant to be just for Ismaili students but the project moved forward and it became three guides instead of one and the authors also decided to sell it on the global market.

The three guides are :

  • The Medical School Application Guide for Canadian Medical Schools 2010/2011
  • The Medical School Application Guide Complete Edition (Canada, UK, Ireland, US, Caribbean and Australia) 2010/2011
  • The Medical School Application Guide for Graduate Applicants (a student who holds an undergraduate degree) to the UK and Ireland 2010/2011

Hats off to these two authors for their great service to prospective medical students; I know I would have benefitted greatly from compilations like these when I was applying to medical schools in Canada in the 1970s. The hardest thing about medicine is getting accepted into a medical school and to the extent that these books help interested students to achieve much-coveted admission then these authors will have done a great and very valuable service.
