Imamat Day celebrated in Gilgit-Baltistan with great zeal

Hunza: Like other parts of the globe, the Ismailies all over Gilgit-Baltistan celebrated the 52nd Immamat day Salgirah of Moulana Hazir Imam with traditional fest and religious zeal. Colorful events were held in all villages in which the participants performed traditional dances, musical items, dramas, skits, tableaus and other entertaining items. In the evenings, Scouts and Volunteers illuminated the valleys with fireworks.

The event, held in Gulmit Gojal in Upper Hunza, was also participated by a large number of tourists, representatives of local administration and other high officials from Gilgit. The day’s event was presided by Rai Ghulamuddin whereas Ghulam Panjwani, CEO, FOCUS Humanitarian Pakistan was the Chief Guest. A delegation of Girls College Faisalabad, headed by Abida Owais, the college Principal, also participated the event. Addressing to the audience, Mrs Fauzia Owais applauded the role of Ismaili Community for maintaining peace and harmony in the region. While regarding the event as memorable for all the member of her delegation, she stressed on other Islamic interpretations to follow the exemplary peaceful Ismaili community in creating inter-faith harmony during this difficult time for Muslim Ummah.

Mr Panjwani praised the local community for organizing a highly memorable and disciplined event. He donated Rs. one lac for the Gulmit Boy Scouts.

Similar events were also organized in all other villages in Hunza valley.
