Yasmin Jetha: GG2 Woman of the Year

GG2 Leadership & Diversity Awards 2008

DRAGONS’ Den entrepreneur James Caan and the Financial Times’ chief operating officer, Yasmin Jetha, walked away with top honours at the GG2 Leadership and Diversity Awards, which recognise high achievers among ethnic minorities in the UK.

Caan and Jetha won the GG2 Man of the Year and Woman of the Year awards respectively at an event in London on Tuesday (September 16), which was attended by actress and writer Meera Syal; singer Annie Lenox; Sarah Brown, the wife of Prime Minister Gordon Brown, and Karren Brady, the managing director of Birmingham FC, among others.

    Not did you let the whole Ismaili Community look great but you made me shine, as your classmate in the Aga Khan Girls Secondary School!

    Financial Times UK is the equivalent of Wall Street Journal in the US so, it made me feel warm and fuzzy all over. But then, you were always one of the top students and we had to struggle to keep up with you.

    A celebration is in order!
