Chitrali Businessmen on study tour
CHITRAL, 29 Nov 06: Marketing Development Section of Aga Khan Rural
Support Program Chitral (AKRSP) arranged a study tour for
representatives of different business associations of Chitral
district. Six members from Farm services, 2 from Honey Bee
association, 2 from Chitral Chamber of Commerce and Industry
participated in the study tour. This visit started from 16th November
under the supervision of Salman Zainul Abideen Enterprises and
Employment Officer of AKRSP. They also met Director General
Agriculture at Peshawar. The delegation discussed matters regarding
price of DAP fertilizer. The Farm Services members have purchased DAP
fertilizer before announcement of subsidy by Prime Minister. They
requested that they had purchased it earlier while Prime Minister
announced 250 rupees subsidy. Which should be transferred to them.
The DG Agriculture assured the delegation of his full cooperation and
sending the case to higher authorities.
The delegation also met Secretary Agriculture Department of NWFP
Government in this connection and discussed their problems concerned
with agriculture. The tour members visited different markets
especially whole sale markets to know different aspects of whole sale
transaction. The delegation also met Deputy Secretary Ministry of
Agriculture and Live Stock of Federal government at Islamabad. They
also discussed problems of Chitral farmers and requested for his support.
The members also visited Fruit and Vegetable markets at Islamabad and
Rawalpindi at Lahore. Members of different section of business
association went to their concerned markets and were introduced to
whole sale agents. They also visited Lahore Chamber of commerce and
Industry where they met their counterparts and exchanged mutual
information. Talking to this scribe a member of the study tour
disclosed that they learned much from this tour regarding promoting
their business respectively. They demanded a continuation of such
study tours for the business community. (GH Farooqi)

Aga Khan rural support progamme is playing an important role in the socio-economic uplift of the people of Chitral. Chitral is one of the remote areas of Pakistan with harsh weather and lack of human resource. AKRSP is playing the role of frontline institution in developing human resource in this mountianous region of Pakistan.

AKRSP initiatives are realy for appricialtion becuase they contribute to develope society and on scientific research based specialy they made big change in Ismailis society and well organized with diginity, we are realy impressed from their efforts and I am too much inspires from their systems and its my wish to join.

AKRSP is working best in overall Northern Areas But in Baltistan region they are working very well. in AKRSP good job and the staff of this department is known well that how is working well. i am too much inspires from their activities and other working plans.

The mission of AKRSP the equatable and sustanabel development of the rural community people.AKRSP prvides basic facilities infrestrucher , livestoke . economic condition, health , education .AKRSP is the main focus of the community of rurl area they are different traing in community .We are really impriess the management of AKRSP is accurat and disciplin are will and punctual of time, and great work and acitive staff and my wish i am working in AKRSP,this is lucky day to me .

hi i am shafiq belong to chitral.the AKDN play an importent rule in the developments of chitral district.espically in eduction sector….i have chance to visits the backword area of broghal of chitral where i found a uniqe eduction system in the area of broghal with the help of AKHSP.. i am much impress with bulding and also the eduction system….total crdit goes to AKDN….
