Dr. Karim Gillani, in collaboration with talented Ismaili artists Munir Gillani, Fahima Sultani, and Suleman Raheemani have produced a mesmerizing original qawwali, “Ali Ki Shan Nirali”. This is in celebration of Salgirah 2023, Mawlana Hazar Imam’s 87th Birthday.
This qawwali also represents a profound and emotive tribute to the Sufi devotional genre, an integral part of South Asian culture for centuries, with its roots in the works of Hazrat Amir Khusraw dating back to 1325.
The Shia Muslim Ismaili community believes in Mawla Ali as their first Imam and deeply venerates the current 49th Imam, His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan in the direct line of succession.
Respected for more than his spiritual leadership, His Highness is also acclaimed for his considerable strides in advancing the Jamat in his 66 years of leadership. His efforts have been instrumental in fostering progress and development within the community.
