Cimone @imcimone releases ‘Pink Clouding’ | An infusion of traditional Sufi sounds with modern R&B production

Cimone (@imcimone), a Canadian-born artist, delivers a lush, bold, and spiritual sound with a strikingly vulnerable narrative. She attributes her unique sound to the rich cultural upbringing she experienced as a first-generation North American raised in a South Asian home. Her first single, “pink clouding”, infuses traditional Pakistani-Sufi sounds with modern R&B production: a perfect canvas for the introspective lyrics reflecting cimone’s struggles with self-identity.

About Cimone:

Passionate about community outreach and the music industry with aspirations to create innovative art that can cross boarders in today’s music industry, Cimone Rajan holds a graduate degree in Songwriting and a minor in Music Technology from Berklee College of Music. She is a self-managed Pop/R&B singer, songwriter, and performer based in Calgary, AB with 8+ years of experience in the music industry.

Cimone grew up in a very musical household, which has greatly contributed to her musicianship as an artist today. Her father, Firdaus Rajan, was a very well known musician in the Ismaili community, releasing geets and ghazals as both a solo artist and as a part of the group, “The Rajans.” Having seen her talent at a young age, her father introduced her to a variety of genres and scouted for performances she could participate in. Along with her musical talent, Cimone is also passionate about visual arts, having painted Gaby Alegro’s EP cover, “Seasons.” She was also cast in “MEMPHIS!” a musical her school had put on, in which she acted, sang, and danced.
