Navroz/Nowruz, the start of the Persian New Year and beginning of spring, is almost here! Below is a song (to the tune of “Raabta” from Bollywood Movie Agent Vinod) & lyric video to celebrate the occasion by Saif Sattani.

 

SaifProfessionally, Saif Sattani is an educator. He teaches at the primary level in Houston, TX. He also volunteers his time in Principal Religious Education Centre and Principal Jamatkhana Early Childhood Development Centre in Houston.

Saif has performed at the Southwest Region’s Imamat Day and Salgirah celebrations, singing Ismaili geets, ranging in languages from English to Urdu to Sindhi. He is also part of  Zikr band which focuses on devotional music.

Along with few other members from the Southwest Ismaili Orchestra, Saif has also performed at an annual Thanksgiving Interfaith event at a local Christian church, facilitated by the Southwest Council.

At the Homage Ceremony to mark the beginning of Mawlana Hazar Imam’s Diamond Jubilee, an ensemble of 22 Ismaili musicians from around the world performed a devotional soundscape to accompany the historic event on 11 July 2017. Saif was one of them chosen to perform.

Most recently, he performed as a singer and actor in the nationally-touring theatrical production titled “Stories: Our American Journey.”
