Al-Shams Women FC and Gilgit-Baltistan Girls Football League joined hands with Right to Play and Women Win for a special project titled ” Sport for Social Change” that took place in December of 2018. This 8 day football camp were held in Hunza, Khyber and Shimshal. This was the first ever girls football camp in Kyber.
This camp included two days of basic football training and one day of indoor session where some games were planned by the organizing team to enhance participants leadership skills, and build their confidence.
Besides teaching participants about game of football, organizing team members (Karishma Inayat, Sumaira Inayat, Sabeeka Alkarimi, Ambreen Shah, and Munawar Shah) spoke at length about education, teamwork and other healthy activities which helps children grow mentally and physically strong.
This effort of theirs was widely appreciated by the people in the area. Organizing team is planning on arranging such event in near future for other parts of Gilgit- Baltistan.
