Zaina Sovani: WE Day Ottawa is coming soon!

ZainaZaina Sovani, Assistant Deputy Minister; Corporate Services Sector and Chief Information Officer along with many other celebrities and trailblazers will be speaking at this event. Zaina has over 20 years of executive leadership experience, with a proven track record of creating strategic direction and enabling an environment of change. As an executive member of the Canadian Commercial Corporation responsible for developing trade between Canada and emerging/developing countries, Zaina worked with Canadian private sector firms and led sensitive consultations with foreign governments on complex, multi-million dollar infrastructure initiatives in Latin & Central America and West Africa. In addition to her professional achievements, Zaina is actively engaged in the community and has served on a number of for-profit and not-for-profit Boards, including His Highness the Aga Khan’s Council for Canada, Hydro Ottawa, United Way of Ottawa and as a Community Member to the Board of Governors with The Ottawa Hospital. In 2012, she was named United Way’s Focus Area Champion, awarded a medal for her role as agent of change by the Mayor of Ottawa and earlier this fall, she was among 40 nominees for this year’s Amazing Person of the Year Award.
