Governor of Texas joins Ismaili Muslims in opening new Austin Jamatkhana

The Ismaili Jamatkhana is the newest prayer and gathering place that community leaders say was built specially to promote interfaith relations.

Gov. Greg Abbott was on hand Tuesday as Ismaili Muslims community members opened their first purpose-built interfaith center in Cedar Park.

The Ismaili Jamatkhana at 2401 South Lakeline Boulevard is the newest prayer and gathering place that community leaders say was built specially to promote an understanding of Islam and other religions.

  1. Wherever Ismaili’s reside there is a place of prayer for them and more Jamatkhana’s are built, some places need even more then one in each area of a city where so many Ismaili Muslims live.
