The documentary ‘Beyond Borders’ is a true story of families who migrated to Montreal Quebec to save their lives from their own home countries. The families migrated because their states were in conflict, wars were taking place and people were dying because of the extremism.
This documentary breaks down the narratives of the families who suffered and were asked to leave their homes and be STATELESS. Canada Government welcomed them with open arms 70’s 90’s and now in 2017-18. Canada became a new home for them. The time move on but the dedication of institutions are still same. The community they belong to provided them support and space to keep up their livelihoods. The community institutions and the Leader invested into their lives and granted them with a better and certain future. In this documentary the families share their stories about struggles and hardships during their early migration days. This documentary climaxes the idea of diversity, acceptance, love and compassion of people within the global community.
The main crux of this documentary is ‘One Jamat’ coming together as one strong community and helping each other when in need.
