Asad Sheikh, Head Drum Major, leads Hebron High School (Texas) Marching Band to victory

Asad Sheikh serves as the Head Drum Major for the Hebron High School Marching Band from Carrollton, Texas.

This past year, he was interviewed as a part of the awards ceremony at the Bands of America Southlake Regional held at Southlake Carroll High School on September 30th, 2017 where the band placed 1st in finals competition while also winning the Outstanding Music Performance and Outstanding General Effect captions.

When later asked about their performance, Asad said that “we knew as a band that we needed to be the best versions of ourselves on September 30th, 2017, no matter the result, and so our mindset going into finals was fixated upon having the best performance possible not only for ourselves, but also for our directors, parents, and all those who have helped the band in some form or fashion.” Asad also shared that “[he] was so elated by the results that he kept saying ‘um’ in his interview with FloMarching.com.”

The Hebron Band later went on to perform at the Bands of America San Antonio Super Regional, where they placed 1st in preliminary competition and named Class 4A champions and ultimately received 2nd place in finals competition.
