July 11th marked the commencement of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan marking 60 years of his Imamat and his continuous commitment to the betterment of humanity. Nine days later, Portugal becomes the first country to award Prince Karim Aga Khan with a double honour, a decoration of the Grã-Cruz da Ordem da Liberdade, Grand Cross of the Order of Liberty by Portugal’s President, His Excellency Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa and eralier in the day an investiture of a Doctorate – Honoris Causa from Universidade NOVA de Lisboa.
