Prince Aly Khan: Kind Father – Lifetime memory of an 82 year old Mother

My mother was a young child in war torn England during the war. She lived with her mother and sisters in Plymouth. Her father was a naval officer who was later killed in action. Mom talks about the air raids that went on nightly in their city. She talks about how the children were bussed out of the city to the country to be kept safe. I believe she was but 6 or so and her sister was 9 or 10. They ended up at or near the home of Aly Khan. Mom remembers him being tall and handsome and so kind to the children and lifting her up high over his head and calling her “beautiful”. For a scared little girl this memory has lasted a lifetime. Mom will turn 82 next week!
