Rumina Velshi switches gears from the Federal Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission to the Provincial Ontario Energy Board

Rumina Velshi was appointed part-time Board member in March 2017. Ms. Velshi brings to the OEB extensive technical and regulatory expertise in the area of nuclear energy. Most recently she served for five years as a Commission Member of the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission, which regulates the use of nuclear energy and materials to protect health, safety, security and the environment. She has had a long career in the energy sector working in various capacities at Ontario Hydro and Ontario Power Generation where she was Director, Planning and Control, for the Darlington New Nuclear Project. Ms. Velshi holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Civil Engineering), a Master of Engineering (Chemical Engineering) and a Master of Business Administration, all from the University of Toronto.
