Rahim Somani Celebrates Opening of the First Residential Campus at the University of Central Asia in Naryn, Kyrgyzstan | Harvard Graduate School of EducationRahim Somani, IEM ’14 alumnus and the University of Central Asia’s (UCA) Chief Financial Officer, celebrated the inauguration of the UCA Naryn Campus in the Kyrgyz Republic on October 19, 2016. The Naryn Campus, which welcomed its initial student cohort in September, is the first of UCA’s three residential undergraduate campuses. Rahim’s passion and commitment to development through education drew him to the university, which seeks to offer an international standard of higher education in communities with limited access to quality services in mountain regions and promote entrepreneurship, leadership and regional cooperation. UCA is building one university with three campuses in the mountain communities of Naryn, Kyrgyz Republic (launched in 2016), Khorog, Tajikistan (opening in 2017) and Tekeli, Kazakhstan (planned for 2019).
