Building on the expertise and core mission of the North‐South Centre to promote dialogue between North and South, foster solidarity and promote global interdependence the 2015 Lisbon Forum will take place 3‐4 December 2015 in Lisbon, Portugal under the theme “How to combat radicalisation and terrorism: prevention tools and shared knowledge in the Mediterranean and European space.”
Since 2009, the Ismaili Centre, Lisbon – a global centre of confluence for the Ismaili, has been hosting the Lisbon Forum. The Forum has been orgaized by the AKDN in partnership Anna Lindh Foundation and Council for Europe. United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, International IDEA and various other international organization, have also partnered in the past.
An annual event since it was established in 1994 by the North‐South Centre of the Council of Europe, the Lisbon Forum has been a distinctive platform bringing together high‐level participants from Europe, neighbouring regions and other continents to share experience, good practice and expertise. Themes of the Forum have been closely related to the core mission of the Council of Europe: to promote democracy, human rights and the rule of law.
