Join NYU/Columbia Human Rights and Education Colloquium and Shenila Khoja-Moolji of Columbia University for a discussion about the ethics of undertaking educational development work in the global South.
In this presentation, Shenila will reflect on her work on a human rights education project in Pakistan to theorize the ethics of undertaking educational development work in the global South.
Focusing on the increasing centering of girls’ voices in transnational campaigns for girls’ education and empowerment, which often reduce these voices to legitimize pre-determined policies, Khoja-Moolji proposes methodologies that entail an ethic of hearing.
Light refreshments will be served.
