Algiers — An international seminar on town planning will be organized in December in Algiers, concerning particularly the experiences related to the creation of new towns and the restoration of old cities, in collaboration with the Aga Khan Foundation, announced Sunday in Algiers Minister of Culture Azzedine Mihoubi.
In his meeting with Farrokh Derakhshani, director of the Aga Khan Award for Architecture, given by this foundation, Mihoubi said that Derakhshani’s visit to Algeria is part of the “exchange of views on future cooperation in projects relating to the sphere of activity of the Aga Khan Foundation.”
For his part, Derakhshani who will pay visits to several sites, including Casbah, said that this seminar will also “highlight the role of the Algerian heritage in the Muslim world.”
