I join with Prime Minister Harper in expressing my deepest sympathies to Ismailis in Canada and around the world following the terrible attack in Karachi.
The Ismaili Jamaat is a force of generosity, peace, and pluralism throughout the world. This makes today’s attack particularly abhorrent. Sadly, it follows similar attacks in Pakistan against Christians, Ahmadiyyas, Parsis, Suffis, and other minority communities.
I pray for the repose of the souls of the victims of this unspeakable crime, and for the consolation of their families, and those wounded.

Very much appreciate Minister Kenney’s sentiments, on this very sad occasion as well as many times in the past.
Ismailimail: You’ve set an admirable precedent of always providing reference information. I don’t see that here, and was not able to find this statement on the Minister’s personal or ministry web-sites. If it was an e-mail directly sent to Ismailimail I would suggest stating that at the bottom of the post (something to the effect, “E-mail received by Ismailimail from Minister Jason Kenney, time & date”) so as to make this post a proper historical record that itself can be referenced in the future, including by historians and academics.
