A New Contribution to Ismaili Bibliographic Studies by Nawazali A. Jiwa

A New Contribution to Ismaili Bibliographic Studies by Nawazali A. JiwaTo date, there have been two major bibliographies of secondary sources on Ismaili studies, namely Nagib Tajdin’s A Bibliography of Ismailism (Delmar, NY, 1985), and Farhad Daftary’s Ismāʿīlī Literature: A Bibliography of Sources and Studies (London, 2004).

In a newly published article entitled “Addenda to Secondary Sources in Ismāʿīlī Studies: The Case of the Omissions,” in MELA Notes: Journal of Middle Eastern Librarianship 86 (2013): 20-101, Nawazali A. Jiwa – a recent graduate of the School of Library and Information Studies at the University of Alberta – identifies over 600 sources (published to 2003) that have been omitted by Tajdin and Daftary.

Jiwa’s bibliography is a significant contribution to bibliographical studies relating to Ismailism, and will be an invaluable reference tool for scholars and students of Ismaili studies.

The full text of the bibliography is available at the MELA Notes homepage:
