To date, there have been two major bibliographies of secondary sources on Ismaili studies, namely Nagib Tajdin’s A Bibliography of Ismailism (Delmar, NY, 1985), and Farhad Daftary’s Ismāʿīlī Literature: A Bibliography of Sources and Studies (London, 2004).
In a newly published article entitled “Addenda to Secondary Sources in Ismāʿīlī Studies: The Case of the Omissions,” in MELA Notes: Journal of Middle Eastern Librarianship 86 (2013): 20-101, Nawazali A. Jiwa – a recent graduate of the School of Library and Information Studies at the University of Alberta – identifies over 600 sources (published to 2003) that have been omitted by Tajdin and Daftary.
Jiwa’s bibliography is a significant contribution to bibliographical studies relating to Ismailism, and will be an invaluable reference tool for scholars and students of Ismaili studies.
