Pilot study completed: In 2012 SIK collaborated with the Aga Khan Foundation (UK), which is part of the international community development organization Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). The project focused on Afghan children in Norwegian kindergartens and the first years in school (from the age of 6-9 years).
The Aga Khan Foundation is working in Europe to support communities and practitioners to be better prepared for a changing Europe with increasing multicultural populations. AKF works from the principle of pluralism as an ethic that encourages the genuine engagement of people from different cultures in order to strengthen society and derive tangible benefits for all people. In Europe, AKF currently works in Norway, Germany and Portugal. AKF seeks to build cooperation within Europe and to support the development and testing of practical solutions in public services and civil society.
