Adam Rahemtulla: UBC's University Transition Program for Academically Gifted ChildrenAdam Rahemtulla age 14 previously of Mulgrave School, West Vancouver has been accepted into the highly sought after University Transition Program based at UBC.

The program’s condensed curriculum has children ready to start university at a very young age by supporting academically gifted children achieve their goals of early entrance to university.

The transition program involves a rigorous identification process and has a curriculum that features radical academic acceleration and career exploration. Students achieve BC High School Graduation as well as early entrance to UBC.

Amongst other interests, Adam has a passion for physics and is looking to pursue this at a doctoral level. Adam’s other notable achievements during the year were to represent British Columbia at the national level for the Canadian chess tournament where he placed 3rd in Canada in his age group.

Adam also placed highly in the various math competitions he was involved in including the American Math Contest (AMC), Math challengers, Canadian Math League and the Gauss Math Contest amongst several others.

Adam’s school team stood first in their group at the Regional Math Challengers contest and were crowned the 2013 Champions at the Provincial Math Challengers competition.
